Pune, Maharashtra, India December 16, 2011 – The prestigious annual BioSpectrum Awards constituted in 2003 recognize by BioSpectrumAsia – the voice of Biotech industry to recognize the exceptional contributions of individuals to the development of biotech sector in the country were announced for 2011.

In a glittering ceremony on 16th December 2011 held at Hotel Sheraton in Bangaluru and attended by eminent personalities in Biotech Industry and Academia, this award was conferred on Mr. Supreet Deshpande, Founder and CEO of VLife Sciences Technologies Pvt. Ltd. at the hands of Dr. Virander Singh Chauhan, Diector ICGEB, New Delhi and Dr. Ravi Dhar of BIRAP, DBT. The jury panel comprises of eminent figures from the biotech arena across the nation and was headed by Mr. Glenn Saldanha, chairman and MD, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Lalji Singh, Vice Chancellor of Benaras Hindu University was awarded with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
"Supreet has taken the company on a good growth path, raising funds from investors and has an extremely good team in place. It is commendable that a company of their size can take a candidate right up to clinical trials in such a short span of time. His case should be a learning lesson for all small entrepreneurs." mentioned Mr Vishal Gandhi, VP-Life Sciences & Technology, Yes Bank and one of the jury panel member.
Talking at the occasion, Mr Deshpande said “It is an honor to receive this recognition from BiospectrumAsia which is the voice of the Biotech industry in Asia. This award is more meaningful because given its eminent prior awardees and that the selection happened by an eminent jury which included leaders in Industry and Academia. This award is dedicated to entire VLife team and shareholders.”
